Diminished Value -

I recently purchased a Nikon D2X. I had previously owned a 995, D100, D2H, and a D70. All of those were in anticipation of a digital SLR from Nikon that was greater than 10mp. In other words, they were all stopgaps waiting for the real product.

I use a combination of Breeze Browser, Photoshop, a few noise reduction products, and a few other products from time to time in the processing of my images. The first, and most important step in that process is the initial processing of the RAW file in Photoshop. With the D2X Nikon has decided that I don't need that step; believing that Nikon Capture will satisfy my needs. They are wrong, of course. So, from my perspective, I just spent $5,000 (US) for a camera only to find that Nikon has diminished it's value to where I now believe I must move back to a D2H for any important work.

I have read about this problem, which occur to alle owners of Nikon new D2x, and what is worse, it seems as if Nikon is trying to protect other manufacturers of Photosoftware to produce rawconverting plug-in in their software by claiming that this step is a violation af Nikon's rights.
We can onlys hope that Nikon will change their attitude.
