We are approaching an age where photo...

We are approaching an age where photo "prints" are all but extinct. We are taking photographs with digital cameras and need to have the digital equivalent of writing the date, location and peopl on the back of the print - metadata. The only way citizen users are going to be able to capture all the information about a photo they take and then be able to edit it is if we have open standards for RAW.

If we come up with some sort of XML RAW format, then 5, 10 or 50 years down the line we can use some sort of XSL transformation to whatever new format is used.
