in the "Bad ol' days" when I shot with film, I had many options in how I wanted to process the end result. with the RAW film I could develop myself, with the RAW film I could outsource it to a lab or one hour photoshop. I could determine the outcome in many ways. RAW Files represent this to me. Nikons' attitude is proprietory BS and will fail. We all want to maintain our investments, and our efforts. Let's see if a groundswell of opinion can take them off a Microsoftian stance and move us toward a more Linuxarian world.... Is any of it perfect? No, but I like options, lots of options.......
