OpenRAW

If the maker of my camera stop making software or stop supporting the actual software for that camera, I won't be able to process the great amount of RAW files that I have. This is the main reason, others reason could be that manufacturers would develop rather basics & slow application while third party software would give me more latitude & control for my RAW file.
