Open RAW formats will benefit the entire photography industry. Current proprietary standards limit third party value-add products which have always benefited everyone including the camera manufacturers. The current proprietary standards are limiting widespread use and adoption of RAW because third party software is limited and the proprietary software from the manufacturers is average at best.
