They are my photos and once they are out of the camera, they should be completely independent of the manufacturer. The current situation is akin to me using a Kodak film camera and only being able to print on Kodak paper. Since I am on my third digital since 1999, when I get a dSLR, the decision will be heavily influenced by which manufacturer has adopted policies that are inline with my way of thinking.
