The image, once taken, is mine. I don't...

The image, once taken, is mine. I don't want Nikon, Canon or anyone else to hide or even encrypt any element of *my* photo data. I want to be able to choose which RAW converter or other software to use when processing my pictures as I want the best output and the best workflow for me at any given time. I want to be able to open *my* RAW files in the future. Finally, competition is good, if all software developers get an equal chance at reading the data files we as photographers will get ever better processing applications for our photos.

Thanks for the OpenRAW initiative, I hope camera manufacturers steps up and supports this.
