Camera vendors take notice... I do not plan to purchase another digital camera (high end SLR) until I feel comfortable that my photos will be reasonably and easily accessible 20+ years from now. I just scanned some slides from the 1980s and got great results – now that's compatibility. I do not have the same optimism for the myriad of RAW formats already in existence today.

I have also sent notice of the same plan to both Nikon and Canon and I reiterate it here. Our existing cameras should hold us for a couple of years or until the manufacturers change their position. I can hold out. Can they live without sales if more people adopt the same plan?
