I have just purchased a D2X and am very pleased with the camera but I am also very perplexed to find out the Nikon software is very slow in converting my raw files. I am amazed that I have just spent over $8000 dollars on a camera and lenses and the software to make it work is another $100 and does not work properly. To compound this problem the next thing I learn is Nikon is preventing Photoshop from including a complete ACR converter on the D2x. I am concerned about my workflow and hope this matter can be cleared up quickly. I am a full time photographer with over 40 years experience.

Best,

John

I was about to purchase the new D2X, having liked the D100 I have been using. I always bought Nikon during the old film days. Until now, I have been "their" customer.

If I will not be able to use Photoshop to open the Raw, and have to worry about separate, not ready for prime time software - it is quite enough to stay on top of the Photoshop releases and OS compatibilities - I will become a switcher to the new Olympus or even the Kodak, that I can use my lenses and photoshop with.

Bye, bye Nikon,
Harold

I've been with Nikon for the past 20 years and run with a D2H and a D100.I love digital, love photoshop and love shootin' raw. But I share my exact sentiments with John. I used a D2X just last month and had no choice but to use the Nikon raw converter. It was just plain slow and clumsy especially when integrating into my workflow. Perhaps I'm too impatient but why waste time?
See you later Nikon....
