I've seen first hand 2 year old raw files from my first digital SLR (D60) improve 1000% when they were converted with newer software options.

Case in point? A 1980's Ansel Adams traveling exhibit (I met him while it was showing in Detroit) was fascinating as it contained multiple images from the same negative: but printed decades apart. His reinterpretation of each negative was fascinating.

I don't want to be in a position 10 years from of not being able to improve the visualization of my early work.
