I prefer the control and flexibility open standards allow. I use Linux, so that I am free of the proprietary lock in. I prefer usingopen source tools, like GIMP and ImageMagik to process images.

Open source tools have allowed me to explore and learn photography. Having open standards on image formats will help foster continued growth of digital image professionals.
