OpenRAW

[Follow up to previous post...]

How do they do that?! Exactly 12 minutes after my post, I received an email from Nikon saying they're sending me the software - Oh, the power of the OpenRaw forum :)

Remember the Unisys LPZW patent on Tiff file compression? - eventually, it expired (last year) and we can all handle tiffs now. These proprietary RAW formats will probably go the same way. There's just not enough commercial advantage - and too much hassle - in keeping them secret.
