As a Nikon User I am greatly distressed by the encryption of D2X white balance data. This seems to be a trend that may sweep the industry if not nipped in the bud NOW.

As a Computer Programmer and data expert I worry about the long term issues regarding image retrieval. It's bad enough to worry about hardware failure without having to consider specialized software!!!

This must be changed now.
