An open RAW standard is the best way to ensure that photographers' image files will be accessible long into the future. Time and again it has been proven that open interoperability has been necessary to the growth and well-being of the computing industry. Camera manufacturers need to realize that supporting a standard will be good for their business as well as for their customers.

What if we could only use Kodak film in Kodak cameras or Fuji film in Fuji cameras. What if TIFF, EPS, PDF and many other open formats like them never existed?
