Even if Adobe wins over the manufacturers, and this site will likely prompt such a response, it seems likely that a number of RAW conversions will be necessary to translate from one standard to another. This is not unlike the Word wordprocessing program that reads several file formats and then presents the document. I just hope that Adobe does a better job of translation and that the software to translate is free. The money for Adobe is always on Photoshop.
