OpenRAW

I find it distressing that an initiative such as this is even necessary. What we are asking for is access to our own work. That we must collectively demand something that is by every right ours to begin with is incomprehensible to me.

I will be voting with my pocket book. Nikon is no longer on my vendor list, and any corporation that takes steps to open their RAW formats will make my short list. From the practical consideration of maintaining the usability of my photographic assets, to loftier concerns of preserving cultural resources, opening RAW formats is the right thing to do.
