OpenRAW

I have a Nikon Coolpix 5400 and I started getting superb result when Nikon released their firmware update that allowed me to shoot their NEF format and process it with Nikon Capture ot Adobe Camera RAW. There are two problems though!! The NEF RAW file from this specific camera is not openable in most programs (Bibble, C1, etc) that support other NEF files from other cameras like the D1X. There is something fishy there about how Nikon composed the NEF file structure. Second problem is that the color values of my camera's CCD RGB filter array are known to Nikon, but no one else. I frequently find shadows and blue tinged clouds rendered greener by Adobe. If I go to adjust the blue and green values, then the leaves of the trees take an incorrect hue. I MUST use Nikon Capture software, or I don't have color control! Aargh!
