Once I snap the shutter, I do not desire to rely on the whims of the manufacturer. The resulting digital file, the copyrighted image, is my property. I have all rights to that image. Reluctance from the manufacturer to endorse open standards infringes upon my ability to access my property and may prohibit it entirely.
